As a cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, Goethe-Institut (GI) promotes cultural exchange, education and social discourse in an international context and support the teaching and learning of the German language. They focus on global opportunities and challenges and bring different perspectives into a trusting dialogue.

GI, with its extensive global reach, contributes significantly to the NARDIV project by enhancing cross-cultural cooperation and cultural management expertise. Joachim Umlauf, director of GI Bucharest, brings a wealth of experience from leading EU-funded initiatives such as the European Academy of Participation and Heritage Contact Zone. His current involvement in EU4Dialogue and EU4Culture in Moldova reflects his deep understanding of cultural diplomacy and his commitment to promoting intercultural dialogue across Europe. Dr. Joachim Umlauf's responsibilities include coordinating collaboration among GI branches in NARDIV’s participating countries, which strengthens the project’s transnational impact and ensures alignment with broader European cultural initiatives.
