OFAJ - OFFICE FRANCO ALLEMAND POUR LA
JEUNESSE
About us
The Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO), known as Das Deutsch-Französische Jugendwerk (DFJW) in German and L’Office franco-allemand pour la Jeunesse (OFAJ) in French, is an international organization dedicated to fostering cooperation between France and Germany. Since its establishment in 1963, OFAJ has facilitated over 382,000 exchange programs, enabling more than 9.5 million young people from both countries to participate.
OFAJ’s principal target group are young people, not only in Germany and France, but also within third countries (like Romania, Poland). OFAJ pays special attention to gender questions and encourages inclusive programs involving young people with particular promotional requirements. The OFAJ will bring in its training methods developed for decades by leading educational and scientific experts, which includes the sensitive field of intercultural (mis)understanding in order to disseminate and implement the results of the research with practitioners.
